shower

Hi I am getting married April 30th 2010 - i dont want my shower in december/january/february - obviously december & january because of the holidays & the weather & february because of valentines day & my FH's birthday. I think march is obviously way to close to the wedding SO .... is there anything wrong with having my shower late October early November? Thanks!

Re: shower

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. People have their showers at any length of time before their wedding, depending on various circumstances.

Re: shower

I think you can verbally let people know you are planning it early so it doesn't conflict with the holidays and you don't want to rish terrible weather.

I think they will be grateful on all accounts. It will spread things out more socially and financially for them. And for you it is far enough away from the wedding that you will have plenty of time to send thank-yous and everything else.

Re: shower

As the bride above said, if you verbally let people know why you're doing that, they will not only find it acceptable, they will appreciate it.

Re: shower

Re: shower

I kept seeing brides on here have showers 5-6 mths before the wedding. I dont see a problem with it. I just think they do it closer to the wedding for space, like where are you going to put all the gifts.
