Shower advice needed/What would you do?

Shower advice needed/What would you do?

OK I am totally over thinking this but its something thats on my mind.

For those of you who don't remember, i opened a shower gift last week from an older relative and it had written on the card the date of the shower which was obviously supposed to be a surprise. (looking forward to seeing you on .....)

I'm not sure what should I do? I've already unwrapped and used it the other day but do you think I should I just re-wrap the box?

Since she's is in her 80's, i don't want to insult her or make her uncomfortable if she realizes what happened. If I don't mention something to her, she won't know I already got it.

Any advice

I would totally re-wrap it and pretend I never saw it

Why would you rewrap it? To bring it to the shower?

She sent it to you, I think its fine that you opened it. Just say thank you to her when you see her at the shower and follow up with a thank you card.

Yes Jen, re-wrap it... Pretend you never opened it..

And don't open your shower gifts before the shower!

I swear I had no way of knowing that it was a shower gift!!!! My parents didn't open the package and told me to pick it up. Since we've already sent the invitations out I thought it was possible it could have been a wedding gift. As soon as I saw the label on the card I knew since my wedding obviously isn't in Feb.....previously I knew the weekend of the BS but not the day.

That's what I was thinking also but then I thought maybe it's silly. The only person I told my mother and asked her not to say anything to my sister about the gift.

It's awful to say but there's a chance she won't remember what she wrote on the card...but if she does......she might feel silly.
