If you received a shower invitation without any registry information would you bring a gift or look for the person registry? MY MOH sent all of my shower invites out with no registry information. Do you think most people will bring a card with cash or will I get a ton of gifts I don't want or nothing at all?

Re: Shower etiquette
I personally believe it is proper etiquette not to send out shower cards with registry information. It usually is spread through the internet or word of mouth.

Re: Shower Gift question
I guess it all depends.
In terms of shower etiquette, I read somewhere that it was ok to include your registry. It's not ok to include it in your wedding invitation.
I guess it all depends on the people you are inviting. Most likely people will call and ask you what to bring. So, go ahead and either tell them that you are registered somewhere specific or tell them to bring you gift cards from specific stores.

Re: Shower Gift question
I've actually had this happen before and I just went on BBB and Macy's to find if they had a registry. They had one on BBB so I didn't have to look far, but I would have kept looking!

Re: Shower Gift question
That's a tough one - a lot of people know that they could go to the knot and they can search registries for your name....(if my 65 year old dad knows this....then I feel safe saying a lot of people LOL)

Re: Shower Gift question
It's okay etiquette to include the cards in your bridal shower invite since it's technically someone else spreading the word about the registry and not you. Which is why you shouldn't include the registry info in your wedding invitation.
Regardless, you can have your bridal party spread the word and you should be fine.

Re: Shower Gift question
Maybe ask your MOH to give the guests the registry info when they call her to RSVP. Good luck!

Re: Shower Gift question
I'd end up just getting something I liked
I might not search for a registry

Re: Shower Gift question
I would absolutely search for the registry. I'd start with weddingchannel.com where a lot of people have pages that link to registries and then I'd look at the big ones:
macy's BBB C&B W-S
If I didn't find anything, then I'd just buy something I thought she'd like at Macy's and give a gift receipt

when people RSVP, tell whoever is collecting the RSVPs to tell them where you are registered

Re: Shower Gift question
I would call the host and inquire as per the registry. But, thats just me, everyone is different. So, you might get anything, really. Hopefully people would be smart enough to be proactive bout it and find out the details.

Re: Shower Gift question
i added my macys registry after shower invites went out, so i had my BM tell the people as they rsvp they im also at macys not just BBB
however, I would prob do a little search myself or ask when I call to RSVP
i think most ppl will do one of the above
however a few might be stragglers and just show up with their own gift or gift card
you could always have her send out a card to everyone saying oops we forgot to tell you about her registries

Re: Shower Gift question
I would personally try and find a registry online or when I call to RSVP ask if the couple is resgitered anywhere.

I still got a few gifts off the registry but also cash

Re: Shower Gift question
i would def do a search, or call a BM (or the bride if its not a surprise) or if it is just casually mention it in conversation one day
