For those of you that had your shower...or haven't yet...if any gifts came to your house are you lugging them to your shower to be opened with everything else? Or just leaving them home?
My mom thinks everything that gets mailed to me (which everything should have been sent to her to begin with...but people didn't pay attention to the registry address) should go to her house so everything is together. FMIL sent us a huge box today that may be our bedding....and my mom is like it should be here otherwise there won't be a present from her at the shower. Can't I just mention people who mailed gifts to the house?
What did you ladies do?

I didn't even know who gave me gifts that were mailed to my house until after the shower. I knew gifts were coming but my mom wouldn't let me see. I ended up opening them when I got home from the shower. HTH

I live with FH so people that know our address have been sending right to us....instead of my moms house whose address I added to the registry for delivery. I see who it's from because it has been on most of the Macy's packaging slips...lol. None on the BBB boxes though

I opened them as soon as I got them. They're obviously not going to be there to see me open them so I didn't think it was a big deal.
I am sending thank you cards after the shower though.

Yea but one is from FMIL who will be at the shower! So I don't know what to do with that one...and that is the biggest one!!! lol

i had a few that were delivered to my parents my mom didnt bring them but we went to drop all our gifts off at my parents and i opened them there...it didnt pay for my mom to drag them to the shower to bring them right back

If she's going to your shower why did she mail it to your house I guess I would open it at my shower then.

I would ask FMIL when she wants you to open it. Strange she would send it to your house when she'll be at the shower..

Yea that's what FH is going to do call her and ask. I am assuming she didn't see it in the store or maybe was easier for her to just order online and send to us. I have no idea really. lol

In my family and circle of friends we never open gifts at the party, we would be there for a million hours. My cousin just had a baby shower with over 100 ppl. so for us sending gifts to the home is not a bad thing.

Yea mine won't be anywhere near that. Most of the gifts I got were from OOT family members. The only thing is the biggest box from FMIL who will be there. So I guess it makes the most sense to just ask her.

we are bringing the ones that came wrapped. Since most of the guests don't drive, it makes it easier for them to ship them to me than to drag it to the shower. If they are unwrapped- FAIR GAME!

FMIL drives...so I don't really get it! Its a huge box, so I didn't open it to see what was inside. lol. Maybe she didn't want to lug it around.
