Shower guest list

So they are going to try and keep my shower a surprise (although my mom has no luck keeping things from me :) but want me to make a list of guests. Do I invite ever women on the wedding guest list???

I made a list for my MOH. I didn't invite every woman. Mostly I picked family that lives on long island and friends. There are co-workers I am inviting to my wedding but I didn't put them on the shower list and I didn't include all of FH's friends wives.

I only invited relatives like aunts, cousins, close friends, close friends of my mom and FMIL and siblings. As far as every woman invited to the wedding- no because some I have never met that are wives of FH's 3rd cousins... So those types of people didn't get invited.

i pretty much invited every woman b/c i knew about 90% of them. some were just courtesy invites b/c i knew they wouldn't be able to come.

JMO - I don't know if you can invite people who are not invited to the wedding.. i know it would not be how you intended it but some folks might think that you were just inviting them to get gifts. . like they are not good enough to go the the wedding but are invited to the shower. . .

I did not invite everyone I kept it to family and close friends and still had over 60 people I think its ol to leave out people that you havent met or that you are not close with.JMO

I'm thinking that I have to invite everyone that's invited to the wedding. Guest list is only 150 so it's really just immediate family and friends. The only part that i'm having a problem with is deciding on who from my office i'm inviting. So hard... I've worked with most of them for about 7 yrs already.

For my shower, I invited only those women whom I am closest to. So I invited 5 friends, all my female cousins and my Aunts. It was 23 people in total.

I had over 300 people at my wedding, so there was no way I would invite all 150 women! It would be too many.

i don't know, because they're keeping it totally a secret... however, i'm sure they're probably going to invite all the women invited to the wedding... mainly because we know all of them... even the few that i'm not close to or (don't really like...shhh)... i'm pretty positive that there won't be a lot that come though...that's just way my family is!

I invited the people that are important to me...co-workers that I am very close with, family, and close friends...thats it!

I invited about 1/3 of the women on the wedding list. Just close relatives/friends.

THis is what Im planning on doing! I have been procrastinating big time an mom and MOH keep hounding me for the list!!

My mother wants to invite every woman, but I think that's overboard considering a lot are FH's OOT relatives whom I've never met, or wives of his coworkers, etc. I know they have a pretty high minimum of 40 people, so we'll see. It might be a hi nice to meet you thanks for the present kind of awkward situation

I invited family on both sides, good friends, moms good friends that know me well, and fmil's good friends that know me well.
My situation is different as I am having a MD shower and a NY shower, so people won't have to travel.
I would not invited one of FH's friends gfs or dates I don't know well. This happened to me, and I was a little taken aback.
