I’ve been posting a lot lately about shower venues. I am looking for something trendy, chic, and modern, totally different from the wedding. I am kind of going for a sex & the city theme. I always hear everyone complain about showers, and the games, and so on. I definitely want to do something different. So…….instead of having a brunch or lunch on a Sunday, I was think about doing cocktails and hors d'oeuvre. I want it to be a social event, not sitting, eating, and opening gifts. Maybe do it at like 4 or so? What do you guys think??????

Why not? It's your shower - if that is what you want, then why not go for it?
Personally, I think that would be a lot of fun - not just for you but for your guests as well!

i think its okay... however, you need to make sure your guests are aware of this and not expecting dinner. if you have this at 4.. people are going to want to eat - dinner.

Re: Shower Help- Looking for something different
I think it sounds great and part of me wishes i had stumbled upon an idea like that before we booked mine... but just keep in mind that if you have alot of older guests, they totally wont understand you veering off the traditional path

Re: Shower Help- Looking for something different
That's exactly what we're doing. We're acutally having a 'Jack and Jill' shower. It's a cocktail party 3 - 4 hours. I wanted to break away from the traditional, because alot of people don't like showers.
