Shower help/advice

What is your dream bridal shower? What are elements of past showers that you loved?

My mother and aunts are throwing my shower, but want my input. We are at the age where my friends and I have gone to/will be going to a zillion showers, and it's getting a little repetitive. How can I make mine unique? It is not going to be held in a home, definitely doing it out somewhere.

Good thing you're having it out...the ones at home are painful. I'm not a fan of games at showers because I usually think they're more annoying than fun, but I did play a fun game at a recent shower...
We did a table cake decorating contest. Basically we had a pound cake, frosting, sprinkles, gummy bears, and a couple other candies and such and we had to create a wedding cake. My table won! We did a three-tiered cake and had a blast making it. Oh and the bride decided the winner. Very cute idea and I'm hoping they do it at my shower also.

Wine...and a nice restaurant.

I was so happy that my shower had unlimited wine..not to mention I needed it to calm down.

I'm also not a fan of games but my mom did one that was nice, all the guests really got to know mine and DH's life. She asked DH questions about himself and our relationship before the shower, then she had me answer them on a sheet of paper at the shower. All the guests got to see the questions before I got there and they had to guess how many questions I would get right. The person who came closest got the prize.

As we get older and have been to many showers, they get old. My best advice is to pick a place that people will really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Then they will look at it as a nice luncheon.
