So I wanted to be surprised about my shower but realistically it won't work because one of my BMs is from Boston and she will have to stay with me. So we decided I would know the date and that it's at my mom's but no other details. The invites went out three days ago. Today I get an email from a girl I used to be good friends with and now we're losing touch. She tells me she got my invite and what a cute idea to have a luau theme! Is she an idiot???? Aren't most showers supposed to be assumed surprises? I'm really annoyed!!!!!

I'm sorry you're disappointed. That stinks.
Try to act surprised though for your buds. They are probably trying hard to surprise you.

Is she out of state? My FMIL and FSIL both almost ruined my suprise today on me....FMIL said 'it doesn't say it's a suprise on the invite'....FH says it's only NY that does it as a suprise...i wouldn't know since i've only lived in NY all my life...sorry to hear that she spilled the beans!!!

You would not believe how many people rsvp'd to me for my own shower! People are soooo clueless! I always assume it's a surprise unless I'm told otherwise. I thought everybody knew that but definitely they don't!

How do people not know that bridal showers are supposed to be a suprise. Even if they are not, I would always assume they are and never say a word about it to the Bride to Be.
I had a similar situation and it *****. But , there's nothing you can do about it now.
Just think off all the other stuff you don't know.
