My sister just asked me for a list and Im not sure who to put on it. I know they wanna keep it small so do I have to invite every women that I am inviting to the wedding to my shower or can it just be close friends and family? Also, if I know they arent gonna come, should they still get an invite? And if there are pople that dont know me from FH's side should they be invited? I dont want to insult anyone. Sorry for the 20 questions.

Re: Shower Invite Question
I was just thinking about all of your questions the other day!
I almost feel like it should just be close family and friends from both sides, yours and FH (even the few you may not really know from FH's side)
Also, even if you know someone is not going to come, I would still send them an invite. People are strange that way...even if they weren't planning on going, they would be insulted by not getting an invite.

Re: Shower Invite Question
I'm in the same boat...so what I'm doing is:
If you want to keep the shower small, then you keep it small. You don't HAVE to have every female who's invited to the wedding invited to the shower...even though my own mother thinks otherwise.
If you know they aren't going to come (i.e. out of town and/or elderly), but they're family or close friend, they should still get the invitation out of respect.
If the people you don't know on FH's side are his family, then they should be invited, but if it's one of his coworkers wives, then I don't think its necessary. My mother wants to invite his coworkers wives, whom I've met once or twice if at all. I'm trying to convince her not to because it would be uncomfortable, but it is what it is.
Good luck!

Re: Shower Invite Question
I had to produce a list for my Sister who was planning the shower. I put Aunts, Cousins, close friends, and close family members. My family is huge so we had to draw the line somewhere. I did invite co-workers to the wedding BUT I did not invite them to the shower.

Re: Shower Invite Question
Thanks for all your suggestions. I think being that my BP is only 3 girls I am going to keep it as small as possible. I dont want my girls spending a fortune on this.

I was just in the same boat as you. In short, invite the close friends and family of your choice. Shower guest lists can balloon easily!
The only shower etiquette I will acknowledge is that only women who are actually invited to the wedding should be invited to the shower but you Do Not have to invite all the women on the list! you'd almost have another reception lol

Re: Shower Invite Question
My sister had me do this too....but then it ended up being waaay too many epople for her still...and I had to X people off... HAHA> But I ended up getting to invite everyone anyways...don't know how that worked...but it did. LOL. I kept it just to close family and freinds and co-workers. The people at my job are like my extended family, so I needed to include them. It should be fun! I can't wait!
