Do I invite the out of towners or keep it local?

I'm inviting OOT family and my closest friends from college (that currently have jobs). I felt bad inviting anyone else- seemed like I was begging for gifts

the only OOT'ers I invited were FH's cousin wife, and his aunt. They wont come becuase they live too far away, but I wanted to extend the invite anyways

OOT's were invited, but we are very close to them. For those who aren't coming I already received very generous registry gifts in the mail

I am inviting OOT guests, but almost all of FH's fam is OOT

I asked my mom and FMIL what they felt we should do and they only invited the local people to the shower (as far as family goes). I mean you coluld always send a curtiosy invite but chances are only the locals will go.

no, only NJ and NY guests are being invited - everyone else isn't in the northeast so we didn't want to impose or make them feel like they have to give a gift
