I just sent my sister the list of people to invite to the shower. Including me, 27 people are invited. I have a small family, FH's family is even smaller, and my circle of close friends is pretty small.
Anytime I've been to a shower, there are so many people there. If 27 are invited (many of whom live out of state), like 15 people will be there. I feel like such a loser. Just need to vent!

That's a lot more people crammed together playing games and stuff than you think. I was the MOH for my friend and I actually invited maybe 30 people...luckily half of them didn't come because the amount that did was perfect and she had an amazing time!

Don't worry about it. Having a smaller size shower opens your options to have special things done!

i LOVED my shower - it was only like 12 people or so - but they all meant the world to me and it was so much more personalized!
The most fun shower i've ever attended was one that was 8 people...we all sat at the same table - and were able to spend time with the mom (it was a baby shower). I still remember feeling how nice it was to just have close friends around....

Don't feel bad.....I am the same way...my bridal party only has 2 bridesmaids for the same reasons you mentioned. 15 people can be soooo much fun since they will be people you actually want there.

oh, i'm sorry you feel that way, but there's really no need to. the last shower i went to had only 14 people. the groom's side lives out of state, so they couldn't be there, but that would have been only 2 people. i also have a small family and few close friends. my guest list was 33 people, most of whom i don't know because FMIL said they had to be invited, otherwise it would have been a 22 person guest list. i personally prefer a smaller intimate shower, this way you can mingle with your guests and have fun. FH's cousin had over 80 people at her shower, and all she did was say a general hello, then had to start opening gifts right away. the only break came when lunch was served. the people who matter most to you will be there, and that's what's most important!

Noooooooo, dont feel like a loser AT ALL. Lots of people have small families or one side of the family is out of town OR like me, I grew up always having mostrly MALE friends, hahaha, so unless I had a Jack and Jill shower, I knew ahead of time it wasnt gonna be 50 people!
I had 25 people at mine, and I still felt it was crowded in the room...so dont worry, its gonna fun to matter what!! Enjoy it!!

I am in the same boat. I only have about 27 people on my guest list. All of FH's family is overseas and won't be coming. I feel like there is going to be no one there.

Don't even sweat it! The smaller the size, the more intimate things can be. Enjoy yourself with those people who will be there....Remember It's not always quantity that matters but QUALITY!

I had about 35 women at my shower and they were all the women I wanted to be there. Sometimes we tend to fill up a room with people you see once every 5 years. Don't sweat it you will have more fun with less people.

I feel the same way. At one point I even decided I didn't wanna bother with what I called- 'a stupid bridal shower'
I never had a big group of friends, just a few really close ones. It's times like these though I wish I was in a sorority or kept in touch with more people. I definitely know how you're feeling.

oh no dont you dare feel bad...i only had 25 people at my shower i have no family really and only a few friends i consider to be friends it was awesome and we had a great great time....... you will have a great time too

Do not feel bad, a lot of brides are in the same boat (me included). My FH's mother doesn't 'believe in showers' and feels 'funny' asking her family/friends to come partly because they live far away. So basically, the shower will consist of my side of the family and maybe my future mother-in-law if she decides to fly up from Florida. Also, my bm's live all over the country, so I am only counting on like 2 showing up. I felt the same way at first, but I think I'm over it now.

DITTO! And honestly I persoanlly hate when I get invited to showers by people that I'm not really that close with...I feel like they just want to get the gift. Persoanlly, I don't think every women getting invited to the wedding is 'shower material' Don't sweat it.... just ENJOY IT....!!!!
