so for my shower we have people coming from the bronx, nassau county, manhattan, even jersey and all i told my mom and sister was that it would be better to have it at a central location. Plus i live in queens (forest hills ) and i'm sure all gifts will be going back to my apartment, so I don't want it to be far out on LI. My initial thoughts were Bayside, Great Neck, Douglaston since they are close to the bridge and LIRR for city people but I'm looking for some suggestions.... there are a bunch of great restaurants in astoria but i don't think it's convenient. Even forest hills would be good but i don't know many restaurants that would be good for a shower? I'm thinking we'll have around 45 or 50 people.
any suggestions for restaurants in queens or on nassau border?

OHHHHH i forgot about this place in my other post...its in astoria and its called island...the decor again is gorgeous...it lime stone type walls, all white decor, candles...It would be a gorgeous setting
no problem...if i think of anything else i'll post it...Oh and i take back the limestone walls at island, i just read it and its riverstone walls hahaha. If you do it upstairs too they have cabanas and white cloth hanging from the walls. Its also good bc they have many types of food as you'll see when you go to the link, they have italian, greek, spanish and more.

I so wanted to have our rehearsal dinner there but it's just too much money.

That's what I meant....but yeah, they only do beer and wine. I just meant that beer, wine, whatever isn't included in their price per head. So whatever people drink would be additional.

i would love to have it someplace like that; my mom is mostly planning it and she doesn't drive really on the highway and is also overwhelmed easily, but my sister is helping too and she knows i don't want just some italian place out in LI so hopefully she'll call a few of these places - i forwarded all the sites to her!!

Originally we wanted to since that's where we live and at first we weren't going to do an actual 'rehearsal' at our RH, so we figured, why not have the rehearsal dinner close to us since we're ALWAYS traveling for everyone else's things...make them come to us for once, ya know? And Trattoria L'Incontro is like, a staple for us, they know us there, so it would have been perfect. But then we found out the prices and it was too much. But then after all that we decided to an actual rehearsal, so now our RD has to be White Plains, near our RH. Traveling again....oh well.
