shower, mom, moh. long question

Hi ladies, I havn't been on in forever but it's been hectic.

Anyway here is the situation. My shower was supposed to be a surprise until fh called me to to tell me that my mother had no right to call my moh (his sister in law) and ask her to turn off her ring tone while she is accepting rsvps for my shower. My moh thought it was rude. She said where does you mom come off insulting my music and telling me what to do?! My mom explained that my older family members did not understand ringback tones and ended up calling my house. My mom did not want to ruin the surprise and have the calls coming in and moh was mad that my family called and hung up. Moh thought my mom just didn't like rap. My mom couldn't care less. Anyway moh and I are awkward around each other even though she and my mom apologized to each other it isn't the same between us anymore. It caused tension and I don't want to hang out with her anymore. FH is mad and said I am over reacting. Your opinions please.

Oh those ringback tones drive me nuts also. I can understand where the mis-understanding was and why it happened. I think after you explained everything though, it should have cleared the air and everyone now move on.

Thats a tough one-there was a reason for her to want the phone shut off b/c people were calling the house but if you mom didnt say this to her when she asked I could see her being offended. I dont really know-i guess I might be a bit upset if I were you but dont let it get to you

That stinks. Are you questioning whether or not you still want your MOH to be your MOH? You should sit down and tell her why you are upset and how much it bothers you and hear her out. It sounds like it was a misunderstanding and that happens a lot during the pre-wedding phase. Good luck!
