Shower n RD question?

Shower n RD question?

Ok, I'm a little confused, actually more then a little. At your bridal shower are you supposed to have favors? I'm not sure, some of my friends say yes, others say no.
What did you do?

and

at the RD did you have a special cake made for desert, or just a regular desert from the restaurant?

You all are life savers. Once again, thank you.

Most showers I have been to, I received a favor. The ranged from a bar of soap, to a cookie cutter to a candle. But you could not have one. I am planning on having something, but my MOH is taking care of it.

For dessert at a RD, you do what ever you want. You can have a special cake or the regular dessert is just fine too.
I might have my grooms cake becuase FH doesn't want one at the wedding. he is a big Yankee fan and I saw some great Yankee cakes. There is no right way. Totally your choice.

I think with the showers most people give out a little favor but its not necessary...

with our RD we are going to use the desert from the place... I was thinking a cake but FH said we would be having wedding cake the following day so we will choose a different kind of desert... I think I may get a grooms cake too...

Re: Shower n RD question?

Whenever I've been involved in throwing a bridal shower, we've done favors. Nothing too extravagent -- its not a wedding -- but something nice and hopefully useful.

For the rehearal dinner, I've seen it both ways. Sometimes people have a sheet cake with something writte on it like 'Good Luck.'

But you can just do a regular desert too. We're doing a buffet at our catering hall since thats where the actual rehearsal will be and for our rehearsal dinner, and they are providing a sundae station (and it isn't costing me anything extra).
