Shower Pics and Stuff

My computer has been acting up big time so I haven't been on much lately. I just wanted to put some stuff up about my shower that was thrown for me on 2/24. It was so cute and my bp did a great job of planning everything. They had it at a Knights of Colombus in my old neighborhood in the Bronx.

They had martini glass centerpieces with pink and green liquids in them (our dress colors).

Chocolate favors were made by my sil. Some were pink tulip lollipops that she put into green flower pots. Others were little boxes made of chocolate that had m&m's inside.

At every place setting there was a little pamphlet that one of my bm's made up that had little games in it...like a crowssword puzzle about me and FH, a Mad LIbs about me and FH, pics of different things that you had to X out my dislikes and draw a heart around my likes (i.e. heart around the yankees, X out cats). It was soo cute and thoughtful.

Then the other favors were keychains with a pic of me and FH in it that had a quote from one of our favorite bands on it (an irish bar band from the bronx...shilelagh law - the quote is 'I thank the stars above I met you and for the days we've yet to spend, with you my friend'.

We got a ton of gifts, lots of gift cards and some $$ too. Such a great day. I unfortunately was in the middle of having a nasty flu, but still had a great time. So much thoughtful detail went into the planning. I loved it!

Lisa, what great ideas!! Especially intrigued by the booklets with the games; Perhaps you can share a bit more about those, if you feel up to it!! Mary MOB

OH, Mary, I am better now, just my computer is still not so good. haha.

Here is way more detail than you could ever possibly want about the pamphlets......

They are a tri-fold paper and the front says 'Who says Bridal Showers Weren't All Fun and Games???? Well, it wasn't us. Try your luck at these Guest Table Games. How well do you know this special bride'

Then in the first page there are a bunch of little pictures. It says 'Lisa's Love/Hate relationships. Draw a heart around Lisa's loves. Draw an X through Lisa's hates'.
The pics are: cats (hate), firemen (love), a yankee symbol (love), q-tips (love), a plane circling the globe (love), a couple spooning (love), a shamrock (love), the state of New Jersey (hate), a rat (hate), a dvd of the office (love), a bud light symbol (love), a red sox symbol (love) and a skiing ad (love).

The second page has a crossword puzzle with clues about FH and I, so, 3 across - Lisa's middle brother's name. 4 down - Lisa's high school.

The third page has a cryptogram that spells out Lisa W loves Georgie P

Then there is a mad libs called 'the story of Lisa and George, a mad libs adventure'
Lisa and George met in ______(noun) in _____ (year). Rumor has it, when George first laid his ______(body part) on Lisa he thought she was a _________(adjective) ________(noun). He exclaimed '_________' (exclamation). Lisa knew it was _______ (noun) at first sight. She decided to _________(verb) George. Lisa told __________ (celebrity) that she thought George was a ________(noun). George started to _________(verb) Lisa immediately. Currently, the two _________(plural noun) live quite _______ (adverb) together and will be married in April of 2008.

The Bridal Party would like to thank everyone who has so graciously contributed to making this Bridal Shower so meaningful for Lisa. Each of you are so special to her in many different ways and we appreciate all that you've done to help make this day wonderful.

they are really great!!! My mom has no idea what to do for CPs..i love love love them!
