shower question!

Are you ladies inviting your future mother in law's friends to your shower (the people she is inviting to the wedding)?

Yes i had her send a guest list to my MOH of the women she would like to invite from her famiy and friends

my FMIL had 6 friends at my shower (all people who were invited to the wedding)

yes my dad paid for the shower and everyone on the guest list (including MIL friends)

a) I don't even know these people
b) I had to draw the line somewhere

Only family (close) and very close friends.

my mom gave her a certain # of ppl to invite and as long as she stayed within that # i didnt really mind who she invited

this is how I felt but it began to cause drama so I felt that it wasn't worth the aggravation to not invite them. Now this is causing other issues.

what was the number? My thing is 70 people were invited already and my FMIL wants to invite 14 people.

I believe my mom gave her 20 ppl that she could invite.... we had 80 ppl all together and i believe 65 came which was perfect. My mom paid for it but wanted fmil to feel included so basically she said invite who you want just dont go over 20 ppl

Yes. Every single one of FMIL's close friends were invited to both the shower & wedding. it was fine with me. she raised a good point - every time one of her friends kids got married or had a baby she was always invited to the showers & weddings & she always went. so that is why she thought to invite them. plus - she is so happy her son is getting married and wants to celebrate with her friends too. i don't think its a big deal.
