I have about 48 adults and 7 kids coming to my shower with about an equal mix of my family and his. Do I do assigned seating or let everyone figure it out for themselves? TIA

maybe jst designate a table for your bridal party and one for the kids...then let everyone else figure it out on there own
most showers ive been to did have have assigned seats...hth

i did assigned seating at mine. i just htink it makes it a lot easier instead of ppl trying to save seats for others. maybe do 1 table for all the kids though.

for that small of a group i dont think assigned seating is necessary

Thanks. I have never been to a shower that had assigned seats but my mother is insisting its better. I'm torn.

ive never been to an assigned seating shower either... its pretty foreign for me...
You can designate a kids table though... i have seen that before...

I went to a shower last year with assigned seating. I have to say it was kind of awkward because I was sitting with people I didn't know. But I also went to Shauna's shower which had assigned seating and I was fine because I knew the people I was sitting with.
I don't know if seating was assigned at my shower or not - but it all worked out perfectly either way.

I had assigned seating at my shower and got nothing but positive feedback. I just avoided the awkwardness of people who were singles there having to find a seat with others. I set up the tables everyone had a seat there was nobody left out. It worked out well.

My sister did assigned seating at my shower...I think it worked out well, rather than people having to feel awkward about where to sit. Most people knew each other, since it was small...but sometimes when I get someplace, I'd rather someone tell me where to sit, than worry about what if someone else sits next to me, when I was going to sit with my friends lol.

My mom and sis did assigned seating for about the same amount of people you have... I think it works out better. Especially if someone only knows one or two people it can be stressful for them to figure out where to try and sit,

Everyone seems split on this so I guess its better just to give in and make mom happy. Thanks! My shower is saturday so wish me luck that i can do this quickly with little stress.

I had about the same amount at my shower and my BP only assigned one table for me to sit with them and then the other guests just sat themselves wherever
