Shower surprise ruined - I'm I being a Bridezilla?

I mentioned to my mom that one of my friends (who is one of my BMs) had booked a vacation. I told her the dates and my mom pretty much told me that my friend will be missing my shower now and should have called my mom to check before she booked her trip.
I gave my sister (MOH) a list of the bridal parties email address. I feel like my sister could have sent an email out to the bridal party as soon as it was booked. I wish my mom hadn't been so straight with me which would have helped to throw me off.
So far I know my friend is leaving on a Saturday and coming back the following Saturday so I know its going to be one of those 3 days. I'm just upset the surprise is pretty much ruined.

honestly it's not a big deal... how much of a surprise could this be... a few months before your wedding you have a shower, I think very few people are seriously surprised.

i think i will actually help plan mine. I really don't want a surprise because i want it to be exactly what i want... and i don't want to show up in sweats and sneakers. i want to look nice in the pics lol... that probably makes me a bridezilla.
