shower thank you card questions

i recall reading that some girl who already had their showers, had their thank yous out within the week. congrats!!

i have a feeling my shower is sooner then i thought it was going to be since my mom & sister have been running around like crazy. unless its another thing they are doing to confuse me.

any who, my questions are;
what did you write in your thank yous?
where you very specific, mentioning the item you received?
did you have a generic thank you & then a specific note per person?
did you address the card to just the women at the shower or to the couple?
did you sign the cards from you or you & FH?

i am very nervous about writing them because knowing me i will procrastinate until my mom yells at me to get them finished.

I had a little generic, saying that thank you for coming to the shower and for your generous gift. And then I mentioned the item that they got for me.

For the people that I'm closer with the thank you was more personal

Depending on how they signed the card is how I addressed the card, if they signed it from the couple then I addressed it to the couple

And I think I signed them all from me & FH (don't remember)

i havent had my shower yet, but i went to a shower last spring and the TY card i got was PERFECT. i saved it on my fridge, cuz i plan on copying the wording

basically it said thanks for the generous _____ gift. i am glad you were able to come and share in my special day...yadda yadda...i cant wait to see you and _____ at the wedding.

it covered all the points. it was generic, yet personalized! i loved it!
