I sent out my thank-you cards last week. Two of our shower guests gave a joint gift, or so I thought since my best friend kept track of who gave what gift. My Mom called me yesterday to say that one of them complained that they 'didn't get that sh***' for me. MY sister wrote on her FB that 'thank you for the gift but not for throwing an awesome party, but what should I expect.' I tried calling her, and she quickly deleted the post. My Mom got on my case for that, too, because I should have personalized her card. Yeah well, I guess face-to-face thank you's don't count for anything anymore when you have to write out ovef 30 cards.

I am scared I will insult someone like this too. there was one gift that was mailed to me and labeled so that it could've been from two possible sources. One source had mailed another gift ahead of time for sure, but it is a real possibility that that source had mailed two gifts as they're very generous. the other source could have mailed this mystery gift too, but they texted me saying congrats and that they mailed out a 'card' - no mention of a gift. I'm really confused because there was no card, just handwritten return address on the box that I'm trying to figure out - the two sources use the same return address! I might have to just call and say who the heck sent me this gift I need to thank you, but I feel bad about that!
I also think personal thank you cards are best, but they can be very tricky if you make a mistake! Gifts are opened so quickly at showers its easy for the MOH to make a mistake or miss something while you're opening them and she's writing them down!
