How many of you think your moms are going to end up footing the bill for your shower? I have a funny feeling my Mom is and I think it kind of stinks, especially since I have 10 girls in my BP. (But only 9 really who would be paying, FG doesnt have money, LOL) I mean I am sure Moms contribute something, but they shouldn't have to pay for everything, IMO

Re: showers
Well, technically the shower is supposed to be paid for my the MOH. In my case my MOH can't afford to pay for all of it so my mom is helping her out. The BMs aren't supposed to pay, only if they want to.

Re: showers
This may happen. I think my sister (MOH) will probably get stuck with it and as a result, my MOM would want to help her out.

Re: showers
I disagree....i believe that the bridal party should pay for the shower.....that can be their gift to the bride....i do not believe that the responsibility should fall on one person...if the mom wants to pay for it, or contribute, then she can, but she should not be expected to do so

Re: showers
I thought the MOH and BMS were supposed to finance the shower. I was in 2 weddings where we had to pay towards the shower and I was a BM. I have a funny feeling my Mom is footing the whole thing and I kind of think it stinks since my parents are paying for my entire wedding. I could be wrong, but its just a weird feeling I have.

Re: showers
I'm guessing both mom's are paying for some of it... Apparently the girls decided how many guests they could afford, both mine and FH's mom decided that wasn't enough, so they invited more. I would hope that they're paying at least, i really do think that would be fair to the girls in my BP.

Re: showers
anytime I was in a bridal party, all the girls chipped in a paid. The mother usually paid for the cake or the rental of the chair, umbrealla and wishing well. but the girls paid everything else and chipped in for one gift to the bride

The only reason I said that the BMs were not supposed to pay is because traditionally it is the MOH's duty and also because my whole BP got into a huge fight about this with the BM stating that it was not their responsibility. I was in one wedding before and I had to kick in. The BMs don't HAVE to pay, it is their option.

Re: showers
I think it is terribly rude to ask or expect your BP to pay for shower. It becomes SUCH an intrusion to ask someone to be in your BP then, let's see....they have to give you an engagement gift, a shower gift, PAY for the shower, buy a new dress, spend money to travel to the wedding, spend money to stay in a hotel for the wedding, AND buy you a wedding gift??????? That is ABSOLUTELY insane. Mothers, grandmothers - THAT'S who pays for your shower.

Re: showers
No one in my BP paid anything and I wouldnt expect them too. They are shelling out enough $! My mom and sister (MOH) split the cost.

Re: showers
I've been in two bridal parties; MOH in one and BM in another. The entire BP chipped in for the shower in both cases.

My mom is paying for my shower. I wouldn't expect my BM's to have to foot the bill.

FunBride- there is no need to sound attacking. I was just asking a question! I guess the weddings I have been in the brides were rude then because I was BM in all the weddings and their sisters were MOH and we all chipped in together- BMs, MOH and MOB. Guess I am insane

Re: showers
for my sister i (MOH) footed the entire bill. our mother didn't chip in anything. her BMs didn't chip in anything. although all of them said they would just none of them ever ended up coming up with anything.
usually (as far as i know anyway) your moh and BP splits the shower. i could be completely wrong. but it woulda been nice if even one of them chipped in instead of just eating all the food i bought and taking all the favors. yeah, i was the only one of them out of a job at that point. great girls. but okay i'm off on a completely different rant here.. sorry..

Re: showers
my fmil is paying for my entire shower. She didnt want to ask my bp to, because she feels they are paying for a lot already.
