shuttle buses?
Are most of you providing a shuttle bus to take your guests from the hotel to and from the wedding? If so, approximately how much is this costing you and who are you using? My fiance does not think it is necessary but I am thinking that if they are going to pay for the hotel the least we could do is get a bus to the wedding so they could at least drink and not worry about driving back to the hotel. I also toyed with the idea of having a shuttle take those people that are coming in from Manhattan to the wedding too. Is this completely unnecessary??? Any feedback would be great!

shuttle buses?
I toyed with that idea for my guests but they have to go to the church first then it got too complicated. Then as we were doing our budget we quickly changed our minds not to do it. It was around $3-400 that we just couldn't swing.

shuttle buses?
I am getting crap from my inlaws b/c my hotel prices are 109 a/night and at my FI cousins wedding in sept it was only 80 something. Well ya know what its the summer there are many weddings here and well I called that hotel in Philly his cousins used and it is 120 now for weddings... so whatever. But his cousin's hotel offered a shuttle it went one time from the hall to the reception for free. The hotels here don't seem to have that and I am not doing a shuttle bus. We are getting them a school bus they can just deal with it, if they want to drink they get a ride on the school bus if there too shamed to take that method then there are cabs they can pay for or they should just not drink. My brother is an alcoholic and I take this very serious they really don't they would rather be cheap and don't understand the harsh laws here on the island. So, yup we are paying for a school bus for them it is much cheaper. I am also thinking of broaching them renting a charter bus from PA to NY to drive them up the morning of the wedding, to the a few hotel rooms to change, to the mass and to the reception and for that bus to take them home if they are too cheap to pay for the hotel... has anyone done that?

shuttle buses?
I have a bunch of people from out of town so I am getting a bus to take them from Manhattan to Queens to Long Island and back to Manhattan. For 12 hours it is $750 with Skyliner. I am still debating getting a shuttle from the hotel to the reception. I am think of using the same bus and transporting them that way. It is definitely not necessary.

shuttle buses?
My FI is looking in to getting a bus to pick up his out of town guest from the hotel, drop them off at the church, pick them up at the church, drop them off at the reception hall, then come back to get them. Depending on the cost he says he thinks he might be paying for it. We booked our Limos with Royalty, so that is where we would be looking to get the bus from, unless we can find a more affordable alternative. Most of his family knows this is NY and the hotels here are not cheap so most of them are only going to be coming in the day b4 the wedding, then leave the day after. I think this is best. I hope we can get a good rate Happ planning all

shuttle buses?
We are doing buses for several reasons, first, our reception is around 45 minutes from the hotel and church. We decided to use the Wyndam Windwatch for our guests. It is further away, but nicer than the Hilton. Also, we have a lot of out of town guests, and we don't want to put the burden of driving on them. It is NOT needed, but we felt it is something we want to do for our guests. The plan is to have the hotel shuttle the guests from the hotel to the church, the other guests will drive to the church. After the ceremony the buses will pick everyone up and drive them to the reception. When the reception is over, the buses will drop of all guests at the hotel, and then drop off everyone else at the parking lot near the church. We did not book them yet, but plan to soon. If you do plan on using buses go with a reputable company. A friend of mine 'shopped' for the best price and they were late and unprofessional. Continued success to all...

shuttle buses - CHEAP $95
I'm getting my limos from Classic Transportation & with my ceremony & reception sare an hour from each other- plus hotels near the reception are much more expensive than by the ceremony site. I'm getting a 11-passenger van service to take guests to the reception & back to the hotel for $95 round trip. I sent out a Save the Date Invitation and asked guests to 'reserve a seat on the van if they would like to use a van (since a lot of people probably prefer to drive). Their number is 516-567-5100 if you're interested.

school bus?
I would love to know about the school bus as well. I have been calling around and the cheapest price I have found for a shuttle bus is $750- a bit pricey for a 5 mile drive.

shuttle buses?
My FI's family is having a lot of people from Italy and Canada. They wanted to get the Ford Limo Explorer. As they are all from his side of the family, his parents are seperately paying for it (Thank God!!!). We haven't yet chosen who to use but I can tell you that my friend had a major horror experience with it. WHen the bus showed it was crappy and run down(there were even holes in the seats!) The driver got completely lost on the way to the reception and everyone on the bus missed the cocktail hour. There were about 40 very angry hungry people on board!Welcome New Vendors
