Shuttle recommendation / advice needed...

Shuttle recommendation / advice needed...

Since noone on BHB is helping me, I thought I'd appeal to you wonderful '09 ladies...

I'm still working on my shuttle bus for the wedding party and the guests. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to have open seating like a bus 'limo' or if a shuttle is fine.
I'm just not sure if it's woth the extra expense to have an open-seating shuttle as opposed to a regular bus-type shuttle for everyone (including us).

Which do you recommend doing? (It's for the wedding party, guests, and then the return trip back to the hotel after the reception.)

If you think the open seating is a good idea, do you have a company to recommend?

Anyone have any reviews or insights about The Party Ride?

Thanks!!!!

my honest opinion..i dont think you need the bus limo if it is more $$
It is just to get them from point A to B

what is the price difference

From the quotes I received it is cheaper to charter a bus. I am using classic coach- We are paying $1150 for a 55 passenger charter bus- We have the bus the entire day.

According to the quotes I've received so far it's the difference between about $600 and $900 or so... maybe $1100.

The only reason I'm leaning towards a fancier sort of shuttle is because we're not doing a limo for us and I thought it could be a little more special, plus the idea of getting in a regular bus in my dress feels like a bit of a let-down... I just don't know if it's worth spending an extra $500 just to feel super duper special on the way back to the hotel after the wedding. It's a hard line... in the big picture, it isn't that much more $.

I'm bumping this for one more plea at opinions...

I'm really leaning towards the more expensive limo-bus since we're not doing a limo for us. I guess I just want someone to give me justified reasons to do it...

I would spend a little extra for open seating - it shouldn't feel like you're on a school bus, KWIM?

I am spending 1100 for a nice party bus it will pick me and fh and parties up and drop us off and then shuttle for the rest of the time my guests.

on the way back everyone can take thier own cab its only 5 dollars a man to hotel or bar

we are doing a shuttle bus thing to come to the RH to take the to hotel where the after party is being held. Its looks like small shuttle bus on the outside and the inside looks like a cross between a limo and a bus, it seats about 25-30 i think .. so thats what we are going with

HTH!

We had the Party Bus (open seating) for the Bridal Party including us.

It took the guys to the Church and then we all got in it after the ceremony.

We had ordred a Shuttle Bus (regular seating) to pick up guests at the hotel and bring them to the RH (two loops going there) and then return to the hotel at the end of the evening (two loops going back -- DH and I included). However the limo company 'upgraded' us and we kept the Limo Bus for the entire day. So after it dropped the wedding party off at the RH it made a few trips back and forth to the hotel and then again that night when the reception was over.

Here is why I would not do regular seating for the bridal party the seats are tight -- you are all dressed up you want to be comfortable and you want to be able to interact with each other.

For us it was less expensive to have two different type of vehicles -- paying to keep the party bus for all that time would have been a small fortune.

HTH.

Anne, did you have a good experience with your company? Which did you use?

I saw some very negative things about the Party Ride, whom I'd contacted about it, but on the phone and on paper they seem great.

I spoke to Joe at Camelot today and his quote was about $150 more than the Party Ride for the same service -- but he couldn't take us back to the hotel after the wedding so it would have to be vans after.

I agree with everyone who mentioned being dressed up and not wanting to squish into a regular seat. That, and I get severe car sickness when I'm in a bus. Could you imagine if I puked on my dress?!?!?!? Eek.
