I need advice for making a DYI photo sign in book. What size? How many pages? Certain paper or pen needed for people to be able to sign. I was thinking shutterfly, but open to suggestions.

Do you want to use a sign in book? I bought 2 big vases (depending on how many people you're inviting) and bought blank cards so people can write their wishes and drop them in the vases. going to decorate the vase with a pretty ribbon and a card that says 'wishes for Frankie and Ariana'....just another suggestion. I got the idea from Martha Stewart Weddings.

i used photoworks (i think thats the name) i used our e-pics mixed with blank pages. i havent figured out what pens to use yet... good call though! i think i have like 20 pages, i added some extra blank ones at the end just in case.
the quality is great. you download a program to your computer and use thier layout, realllly easy to use

I used regular ball point pens and they worked fine, no smudges.
