Any two people can be your witnesses, just traditionally its the BM and MOH. You can have one of your other Bridesmaids sign, or a friend. It doesn't matter.

I don't think your witnesses can be related to you

Re: signing of the marriage liscence
I thought they would have to sign it at the time you were married rather than the rehearsal...that doesn't seem right...why would they sign a legal document acknowleging that you were married before the legal ceremony is erformed??

Re: signing of the marriage liscence
we are doing it after the ceremony. btw, you technically only need one person as a witness even though there are spaces for two. at least that's what the town clerk told us.

Re: signing of the marriage liscence
Uhhh, I didn't even have a real rehearsal!!!
Our officiant actually had everyone sign it before the ceremony. I think b/c he wanted to bolt right after.
And family members can sign it. Our MOH was my sister and the BM was my DH's uncle. So it was a family affair for us!

Yes they can, I signed it for my sister...
ETA: My church has the MOH, BM or whoever sign it the day of the rehearsal. Find out from your officiant/priest when they want them to sign. He/she may just want you to sign it the day of.
