My cat left bite marks on a wedding card we were going to send out! The thing is, I had bought one of those handmade cards with crystals on it, so it wasn't cheap. They were invited to our wedding but didn't come, and they had a very small wedding in cape cod that we weren't invited to.
I feel I have two options:
1. get a new card 2. just write something cute about how our cat also wanted to congratulate them and draw an arrow to the bite marks
I feel I would have to say something because otherwise it just looks like a damaged card.
What should I do?
P.S. I don't think they are especially cat people...Would option 2 only work for cat people?

Re: Silly problem, but need help! With POLL!!
That is cute, sounds like something my cats would do!
I would say, if I got a card like that, I would think it was funny because I am a cat person...BUT if I were not a cat person, I would probably be thinking that is was rude to send me the card like that. Is there anyone else you could send that card to that is a cat person, and maybe send a new one to those people?

Oh, and are the bitemarks in a spot where you could cover them up with some small decoration like ribbon or something?

No, unfortunately its in the bottom corner! If it were someone we were very good friends with, they would totally understand since I'm crazy about my cat. But, I think I will have to get a new card.

That is so cute. Sounds like something my rabbit would do...
I would write maybe as a P.S. something to the effect of 'oh and (cats name) wanted to send his congrats...it's on the corner (indicate the spot)

If you know them 'well' or 'enough' use the same card and tell them your cats 'signed' the card too.
If you don't know them as well (and they don't care about your cats!!!), get a new card.

It's a card - I'd still sign it and send it. It's the thought that counts the most!

Honestly, I don't know how many cards I actually looked at after the wedding. You are opening so many that the chances of them even noticing are so slim!! I would just give it as is and let them think it happened after the fact. I'm sure they will be more interested in what is IN the card rather then what is ON the card

Yeah, I think it's funny if you make the cat joke, and I'm not particularly a cat person. Go with that.

Iwould mention that cat. You weren't even invited so if you are nice enough to send them a card, then they should be happy they gotone from you at all

I say put it in the envelope and get your cat to bite it again. It will look like it happened in the mail!

Oooooh, missed the part about not being invited to the wedding... I'd send the card as it, maybe with a little note about the cat.
If I ever got a damaged card, I'd assume it happened in the mail...

I don't think it's a big deal, you can still send it - it is not like it's torn up or anything. If it's just a little bite mark it's fine!

I would send as is and write that the cat wanted to congratulate them too-I'm an animal nut and anyone would understand.

I think it would be really cute!! Even if they don't have cats, if they have a sense of humor they should enjoy it.....although I do have cats, so maybe that's why I can see the humor in it! But especially considering that your sending them a card and you weren't even invited to their wedding, they shouldn't be too picky about the condition of the card. JMO

Well, there you go!
They'll just assume the mailman got attacked by a cat. Happens everyday!
