SILLY Problem I have....

Engagement Party---- List too long, sis says only immediate family and close friends--- People at work really want to go. We just can't afford alot of people, we have payments due a couple days later-- and I leave my current job, and return to school full time right after--- Plus FH and I are disagreeing on people.. this is the engagement party-- easy part of the whole event... ackkk only me can find problems ha ha

I agree with your sister...family and close friends only!
No co-workers unless you are really close with them BUT remember you
invite only some others will get pissy...best bet is to skip them

Hmmm I would try to invite just close family. If you get into work friends then where will the list end? I had immediate family and friends and it worked out well. Especially if you can't afford to have a huge party. Don't argue with FH....it will all work out. This is the FUN stuff!

Why would you invite co-workers from a job you are about to leave? You'll probably never see half of thema gain. I wouldn't. I would do close friends and family only.

If you nicely explain that it's for family only they should really understand. It's not like you are inviting one person from the office and no one else. I think it's pretty rude of them to put you on the spot like that.

Also, if you invite them to the engagement party, you are supposed to invite them to the wedding as well.

Just keep the list small. Also do you plan on inviting all of your co-workers to your wedding? If not, then def. don't invite them to your engagement party. IMO you shouldn't invite anyone to the engagement party that you don't plan on inviting to the wedding.

I would do family and close friends only. Don't feel bad about being stressed, I think just about anything with wedding planning can stress people out!

we had a similar problem. We ended up inviting family only. And since fh's family is so big, he only did aunt's and uncle's. People will understand, there is only so much money you can soend. You have to draw the line somewhere.
