I was wondering about wearing my engagement ring to the beach. I am newly engaged and am still nervous about wearing my ring to alot of places. I am in the process of getting it insured but i still very cautious about it .... am i over reacting??

Sorry, I would never wear mine to the beach if it was not insured yet. You are not over reacting

Re: silly ring question...??
no, I don't think you're overreacting.
I wear mine everwhere now. I used to take more caution when we first got engaged-slowly you'll start wearing it to do everything. I wear it in the shower, the beach, to mow the lawn...!
You will get over your fear of losing it, ENJOY IT!!!!
Added: I didn't answer the question haha. I wouldn't wear it to the beach un-insured.

I wouldn't wear it to the beach mostly because I wouldn't want it to get dirty. Suntan lotion and salt water....it just doesn't really make sense to wear it there.

Re: silly ring question...??
I'm sentimental, so the day he gave me the ring was the last day that my finger was empty. If I can't wear it (being an electrician, I can't wear it at work) I wear it around a chain on my neck, but it goes right back on. Get it insured! It was very easy to do and cheap in the scheme of things.

Re: silly ring question...??
I was the same way when I first got mine. Funny thing is FH proposed on the beach so I was wearing it on the beach the first day I got it! I would suggest getting it insured first if you are that uncomfortable. After that, it will be fine wearing it there.....as long as it fits you and you don't go diving deep in the ocean, nothing should happen.

Re: silly ring question...??
Mine was insured before he gave it to me. I gave him my renters policy number and he took a rider on it for us. When we went to Mexico in July, I wore it on a hobie cat but wore a bandaid around it COVERING it so it wouldn't loosen.

I would NOT wear your ring to the beach if you are going to go inthe water. However, I do wear mine to the beach because I NEVER go in the water.

I HAVE AN INGROUND POOL in my backyard. I don't ever wear it in the pool. I would definitely not wear it to the beach. Sorry.

You're soo not overreacting!
At first, I wouldn't wear my ring to shower, but then you get over the fear and wear it for everything...
I wouldn't go to the beach, however. Even when you do insure it, you can't pay a deductible to replace it's sentimental value!

You're not overreacting, but I never take mine off and actually just got back from the beach (with the ring on) - I probably should have taken it off before we went, but I didn't an dboy does it shine when you get out of the water!
