Here's the thing about this deal - they're offering you two prints. While it's only $250, I can almost guarantee that they will charge you more to get a CD of the images and they will also charge you quite a bit more for any other prints you might want. It would probably end up costing you the full $500 or more if you actually wanted more than two pictures out of it. Most of the photographers I've spoken to have told me that they charge about $250 for their engagement sessions just for the session, and then you have to pay for prints or you take the CD instead and make them yourself.
Long story short, I don't think it's necessarily a bad deal, but you'll probably end up spending more than $250 anyway so you might want to just start researching the photographers you're interested in - a lot of them will throw an engagement shoot in for you if you book them for your wedding.
