Silverfox vs. Perceptions

Hello all -

I'm getting married next fall, and the search for photography/videography has begun!!

After some initial disappointment with the process, my fiance and I have narrowed it down between Silverfox & Perceptions.

As we are new to this site, we are hoping to get feedback (both pros and cons) of these two vendors. Any insight that you can provide will be helpful. After searching the forums, I have not found anything too current, which is why I'm posting today.

As for why we are considering the aforementioned studios..... both John (silverfox) and Anthony (Perceptions) seemed very honest and sincere. More importantly, both studios had a blend of contemporary photography, incorporated with the traditional - something that was important to us. AND - the pricing was reasonable, and we didn't feel that we were going to get charged an arm and a leg in the backend when it came to the additionals that may not have been negotiated upfront.

Please advice.

I'd go with Perceptions.

I'm using them for my wedding and my brother also used them for his. My brother and SIL were incredibly pleased with them from start to finish. I feel confident using them b/c I know they were great to my brother and SIL from start to finish - the day of and after. Their proofs and albums were absolutely amazing!

O! I don't know if this makes a difference - but we're leaning more towards a magazine style book, vs the more traditional album.

I'd still go with Perceptions. They had some amazing magazine style layouts!

Anthony (the owner of Perceptions) was BY FAR the nicest, most patient vendor we met with. I've unfortunately encountered some real winners (especially BMs ) in my wedding planning, but Anthony was great.

We were SO indecisive about so many things and he never rushed us out or pushed us to get anything we didn't want. We were there for probably an hour and half one night just deciding which photographer to use and he never made us feel like we were wasting his time or anything like that.

Obviously, meet with each place yourself before deciding, but my experience has been nothing but positive with Perceptions. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

My experience with Perceptions and Silverfox were by far the best out of the places we've seen (Artisan, Patkin, Cassarino).

Before we chose our vendor, we wanted all the experiences - both positive and negative - to take into consideration before making our choice. There's only so much you can get from their websites!!

Pictures and Video will be the only tangible take-away from the big day. It is something that we do not want to cheap out on - but at the same time, we want what we want, if we're going to be spending the money.

Any more info would be great!

I booked Perceptions- Anthony and his staff were really great to me and their work is beautiful.

I never met with SilverFox, but the work I've seen posted on here is beautiful as well.
