My name was a little longer but I think it was easier. When I tell people my name now, they are always like 'huh?' And then I have to spell it.

His for sure! It's only 3 letters!

When someone asks for my name & I spell it, they say ok...., I say no, thats it!

neither of ours were great, so I didn't luck out by taking his. Its 3 letters longer, german, and has all those hard to spell on the phone letters: s d f

I had: t, f and n before

(basically, they both stink)

They are similiar in easiness (word??) but mine is a nicer last name. I often get compliments on it I will be sorry to give it up but then again I will be happy to take FHs

Mine is Italian - His is Polish

His is two letters shorter (his is still 11 letters!) but both are nice and ethnic Greek names so hey - to me it's all the same. Both names are equally said wrong

I definitely do. His is longer and I need to spell it to everyone!

FH is shorter but everyone screws it up. So I am going to go through the rest of my life correcting people.

mine is much shorter.
but they both stink.

the kids at school are going to be calling me
'mrs. h.' they can't be bothered with names that are more than 4 letters long- and they're in high school!

Hubby's last name was much easier to say. I was glad to take his name.

I think both his and my names are similar, except his name has one more syllable than mine. They both begin with the same letter, so my monogram will not change at all. In fact, I barely move down the alphabet. I think these factors have made me very comfortable with the notion of changing my name.

We both have your standard, 70's sitcom last names. Mine was super easy. So is his, but his is double in size!!
