Simple Wedding Dress

Simple Wedding Dress

Ok so here is my question. I'm looking for a very simple princess/a-line satin wedding dress with lace on the bottom, strapless. very, very simple. I'm planning on getting a lace bolero madein addition. I know this sounds insane....BUT I CAN'T FIND THIS ANYWHERE!! You would think they'd be a staple at every dress shop, but I have only found one, and it was $3,500. I think i can do better than that. Just wondering if any of you ladies have seen what I'm looking for and if so, where???

I too was looking for something very simple. I was able to find it, but like you said, in the $4k range....My hunch is that there is a much bigger demand for ball gown style dresses and that these are the ones most likely to be knocked off and are therefore easier to find at lower prices.

would you mind me asking where you got it?

Mine is Selia Yang. She has her own shop in the city. Some other designers who make simple dresses are Jenny Lee, Romona Keveza. Unfortunately they are all a bit on the pricey side...

I tried one on at RK bridal. It was short and it hugged just right. It was like a lace shrug. They had lots of different styles! Check it out.

Check out RK Bridal. They have dresses by Watters, Marisa. Really beautiful and simple dress for about 1k.

Have you looked at David's Bridal? They have a few really simple designs for a good price. Maybe even their higher end lines, Galina or Oleg Cassini, might have something like this.

I was also thinking David's Bridal as I have seen something similar to what you're talking about.
I hope that you do find it though

Re: Simple Wedding Dress

what about target bridal? i dunno if they have exactly what you want, but they have a lot of really pretty, really simple designs for about $150.

just google, 'target bridal'

if not that, i know jasmine bridal has a lot of nice things, but they're pricey-er and more ornate.

I had a hard time finding what you are looking for. When you say lace on the bottom what do you mean? Are you open to pickups?

Here are 2 different styles of dresses I found with lace on the bottom (most have lace on the top and plain bottoms). You could obviously take off the sash..

Pic 1 = pickups with lace on the bottom
Pic 2 = smooth skirt with lace on the bottom

Here are some other dresses if you are keeping an open mind, although the first 2 I posted are closest to what you mentioned:

The last one has a lace bolero jacket but the skirt might be too busy for you. Since they make them, you might be able to have them add that to whatever dress you pick.

I'd also look at Ann Taylor. Their 'Elizabeth' gown is only $600, and is a plain strapless satin A-line gown. It's significantly cheaper than most wedding dresses, so you could have lace appliques added when you get your alterations done. I think the dress is beautiful!

The Jacqueline (their other dress) is $900 and a little more ornate, although it still has the simple look you are going for.

Hope these help!

You can check out the Village Bridal and Boutique, they have a lot of different choices, try them.

Re: Simple Wedding Dress

have you tried j. crew? or Nicole Miller has beautiful, simple dresses.

When searching, go for the 'destination wedding dresses.' they are much less ornate and designed to be comfortable.

This is my dress...it is super simple, and all lace...but it has straps. I got it at Adriennes in Islip.

The pics are also in my album.

Good luck!

Re: Simple Wedding Dress

i got my dress in Ohio but I found the more simple dresses were cataloged under 'destination dresses'... maybe you will find some luck finding a store that has more of a selection for that sort of style.

Maggie Sottero has a few very simple dresses-tho you have to really look for them-my original dress was completely plain nothing at all on it. But if you keep looking youll find something
