Simultaneously booking RH and Church..

Simultaneously booking RH and Church..

How does one do this? Should I call up the RH with a date I have in mind and tell them to hold it for me for about 48 hours then go to the Church and book that day? And then give my deposit to the RH?

Was thinking the same thing myself. My friend told me that I should get a few diff dates from the RH or the church and then go the the other right away. Or carry your rectory's number with you and call while you're at the RH... so you can book it then. For me...FH and I decided that we would look at the RH first and if the church was not available, we would have the ceremony at the RH. In the end, it wasn't a big deal for us. Nice, but not a deal breaker as long as the RH had nice grounds.

I booked my RH first. Then again I also booked two years before so my church didnt even have a 2010 book at that point. It depends how soon the wedding is..

I booked my hall 1st but I called the church 1st to make sure they had the date opened.

I called my church to ask about dates. I also asked about how I book a wedding and apparently they can't even pencil me in on the phone. I have to go there and meet with a priest in person to book the date. Not that I was ready to book yet but I asked the secretary the process anyway and that is what I was told.

I went to look at the hall first and got a list of open dates. Then we went to the church, and asked if they had one of those dates (June 5, 2010) open, and they did. We booked the church, then went home and immediately called the RH. The church also told us that we could change our date if we needed to if the RH wasn't available. I guess that was b/c we booked so far in advance (January 2009 for a June 2010 wedding).

We looked at RH's first and got a few dates in mind... we couldn't book our church over the phone, we had to go and meet with the priest... so we made that appt ASAP and figured out a date from there.
