Since my wedding planning is over...

I moved on to house shopping!

We put an offer in today!
It's not my DREAM home but with a lot of TLC I think it will be great!

It's a short sale and we basically offered the asking price....someone else offered a lower price and this was the counter offer (and then ithey couldn't get a mortgage for it) so supposedly this was already approved by the bank. We will see!

YEP!

I did it...not sure how happy I am that I didn't go lower in price...the real estate agent made me think that if I asked this price it would be more likely to be accepted. I DON'T KNOW! urgh...it's still a decent price (but less would be better!).

the only issue is that the 'owner' is being a little difficult putting the utilities on. Without the utilities on I can't get an engineer in so the deal will be dead if they don't let me do that.

thanks everyone! It is scary because a mortgage and all the expenses is far more expensive than a rent payment but I'm really excited about it. I currently rent a house that has NO yard at all except a front yard. i think my dog will be happy! lol

yeah honestly if u can afford to buy... especially in this market right now.. its the best way to get in c heap and then hey in 3 yrs u sell .. u made a profit!

It's in suffolk, where I grew up, in Medford. My family is all there and it's 3 blocks from where my grandmother lives. She has been in a nursing home and just returned back to her apartment. It's been a huge strain on the family so I hope I can eventually help out.
