Sister in the hospital..

Sister in the hospital..

... they think she might have an appendicitis.. for you girls in the medical field.. how long after all the test when they determine it is an appendicitis will they do the surgery?? Whats the process like, hows the recovery???

i was told that i might have to go into surgery for that in Aug but they ruled it out after a few test..
Surgery takes 45min and recovery is about a week
Good luck to your sis! I hope they rule it out for her as well

MY MOH had her appendix out 2 years ago. The surgery was laproscopic and she was out of commission for about a week.

I'm a PA

normally it takes about 1 hour after the CT scan for results

if it is appendicitis they normally do surgery right away or within a few hours

if they can do it laparascopically then its about one week recovery and surgery is about 1 hour

hope she gets better soon!

if they do a cat scan they should know from that.
My sister had this problem in Oct and had it out the next morning. Was back to work in about a week! HTH!!!
