Now that Spring is in the air and most of us are closing in on being just one year away from their big day. Is anyone planning on visiting their ceremony or reception site to see what things are going to actually look like on someone elses wedding day? Maybe to get a look around take notes and process everything that’s happening. Would you look for something specific? Is there anything in particular that you would be looking for in general?

yes we plan on going by our hall sometime next month to look at the gardens and just take it all in, eat in the restaurant possibly

I go every month not only to make payments but to look at the grounds and how they are upkeeping them and I look at my room and see how it's set up..

I love visiting my hall but I dont go when theer are other events going on. Since my hall is only one occation at a time, I dont want to stick out like a sore thumb...So i find other excuses to go there! I never mail in my payemnts. they are alwyas hand delivered. lol

Our next deposit it due in July so we will take the ride out there and bring the $$$ to them. We will probably take along my mom and FMIL. Our hall just had a multi-million $$$ renovation and it wasn't done the last time we were there. We can't wait to go back and see it completed. I want to take pics to show my florist too. I wouldn't have the nerve to go during a wedding. Who do you think I am, Vince Vaughn??? Only kidding!!

I go to the hall every other month to make payments and I am always looking around. I take mental notes of all the things I see and want while I'm there, that way when I meet w/ the banquet managers for menu stuff etc........I have an idea of what I really want.

Yes...We are planning on actually driving from the church to the reception hall the weekend after memorial day (since that's when we are next year) to see the time line of what we want...and all. Then we will look to see how things are decorated out by the RH by our room.

yea you know thats a good idea..... my aunt (who also happens to be the lady who is going to marry us) is flying from greece in a week so I gotta take her by anyway so Ill see what the swanny is up to lately.

YUP we are going to go and see how our centerpieces are gonna look and make sure they are perfect for the size of our tables. We have seen it set up for a wedding before but it was a very small wedding and they did not decorate it that much, so we are gonna go in the next xouple of months and see how another couple will do it.

yea - ive been planning to pass by close to the yr-mark - i wanna see the flowers, and all the things that go on
and i hand-deliver the payments too so i like going there all diff times of the yr!

oh yes most definitely...I am going back next month and definitely in June to see the grounds and how the weather is by the water..i want to know if its gonna be sweltering hot for the outdoor cocktail hour or will it be just comfortable since you will have the breeze from the great south bay!!!

I am most defiantly doing it. When I booked my hall, there was no flowers out yet and the trees were bare, etc... I can't wait to go back and actually see what it is going to look like the month of my wedding.

I am going to the VYC May 13th for a Communion party. I will let you know how the place looks.

Flowerfield was BEAUTIFUL done up for the holidays... I'm Jewish, but even I appreciated the poinsettas and Christmas lights and the ginger bread house they had in the lobby (which I loved so much I took close up pictures of it). It's a truly fantastic place.

My hall doesn't allow people to come in while other events are going on - they shut the doors as soon as the bride arrives, basically. (which is one of the reasons I love them ) However, I think come October I might poke my head in just to see how they decorate for the season and what kinds of flowers they have planted and such, just to get an idea and maybe make sure my own flowers work with their seasonal decor.

I have not been going with FH to drop off payments but now that its spring I will be taking the trips with him to see how it actually looks.
