Six Months out and Totally Stressed...

I'm getting married six months from today. Wish I were more excited to say that...

I feel SO far behind. And everything I tried to accomplish this weekend fell apart. We made a payment to the hall. Found out there's a wedding in the morning on our day so we can get there one hour before our ceremony, MAX. Our rehearsal may need to be in the middle of the week, when I can't get off work and don't know how many of my OOT BP will be able to make it.

Talked to a travel agent. Found a possible honeymoon, but read some mixed reviews online. Mostly positive, but negatives included mattresses so bad people slept on their couches. If we go elsewhere, we may have to change our expectations drastically.

Tried to order BM dresses today. The consultant I've been working with was out sick and we were pretty much ignored by the people who were there. Overall, bad experience. And one of my BMs in particular is passive-agressively arguing everything. I wanted to order today, and it didn't happen because she wants to wait, wants the dress that nobody else likes as much, wants to order it from somewhere else...

It was also crazy because she brought her two toddlers and my other BM brought her son, too. I love my 'nephews' to pieces, but a bridal salon is not the right place for them. Nor is my wedding, but the BM with one son said 'Oh, boy, it's gonna be a crazy wedding with all these kids running around...'

All this on top of work stress and family issues and about an hour ago I found out I need to replace my oil tank.

I really need that vacation that my district lost. UGH!

Sorry for the long post, I just *really* needed to vent. If anybody read this far, thank you...

I hear you about needing this week off. I originally planned March bc I thought I would have this week to get final preps in order. Thanks Sandy!
Try excellence in playa mujeres. We are staying there and my friend went on her honeymoon in October (extended their stay bc of Sandy) said it was Paradise. I did also have a friend go to punta Cana and loved it. It will get better, just a bumpy weekend!

I'm sorry. I know it doesn't help now, but it will all work out. I'm getting married on Sunday, so after we lost this vacation, I freaked out. Everything worked out though. You still have some time....As far as the BM dresses, YOU should make the final decision--not a BM (just my advice) not everyone will be 100% pleased all the time so just remember this is about YOU

I'm sorry things are not so good right now sweetie! You still have some time...

if you have to try to make phone calls on your lunch hour and start making late evening appointments for things now.

As far as Bm dresses, this is YOUR day...if everyone BUT HER likes the dress you picked then she has no choice...MAJORITY RULES!
When she said yes to being your bridesmaid, she agreed to be an AID in making your day the way YOU want it! To be there for YOU and SUPPORT YOU! It is not about her!

Back to planning, if there is anyone in your BP that you trust their judgement, see if you can give them wedding planning assignments to make your life a little easier.

I hope I didn't stress you more...and maybe I should take my own advice...but try to breathe...you still have time to go back and try things again and to fix things...just one thing at a time! *hug*

Six Months out and Totally Stressed...

I'm pretty bummed about losing this week as well, however, I started feeling like yuck at the beginning of last week, got my grades in on Tuesday and had my students' showcase on Wednesday and just dropped. Stayed home Thursday and went to the doctor and found our I have the flu. She told me to stay home Friday, which I did so I've gotten 6 days. Still don't feel 100% but I tried to get as much done as I could from my bed or couch. I look at it this way, if you have the days, and need a day, TAKE A DAY. As I get closer and need to get things done, if I can't do it on the weekend, I will take the day off.

Six Months out and Totally Stressed...

the ceremony timing sucks, I think my venue is going to give me a problem too. but it is what it is. with your BM's, set em straight! just let them know that it needs to be them only so you guys can focus and get done what you need to without distractions. for the BM who doesn't agree TELL her what you're deciding and if she can't live with it then tell her not to be apart of it. i know that's hard to think but would YOU ever tell a friend whose bridal party you were in what YOU wanted and make demands? I think not, because it's not the right thing to do. if the bride asks you to wear magenta with bows and a crown, it's what you signed up for! just take a breather and make a list :)

We have the same venue, so it's likely we'll face the same situation...

Thank you for your support. I think sometimes I work so hard at not being a Bridezilla, even when I'm crazy stressed, that I end up a doormat. My MOH is pretty good about reigning in the rogue BMs, so I'm lucky in that respect, at least.

Trying to take it a step at a time.
