I know this has been asked a while back, I vaguely remember the post...
But has anyone with a larger bridal party been told they were crazy, or had a negative reaction? I am having 9 girls...I know this is big...but each person means a ton to me (5 of them are family..we are irish catholic, lol). Seriously....coworkers/family/friends..when I say 9 they go 'oh my god thats insane' and then ask me if i know how $$ it will be to get them all gifts.
I know i should only do what makes me happy and not worry...but i find this very annoying and shouldn't have to explain myself over and over again...

I recently added two of my oldest friends to my BP making the grand total, 8 girls. However, we're still only having 6 guys.
The only negative response was from someone in my BP!!!!

I have 7 girls, 8 guys and 2 RBs.....I have been hearing it from everyone!!!!! They are concerned of course....but they are not the ones paying for it!

Funny because we only have 7 guys, 9 gals. I don't mind that its uneven though...
I guess i just don't understand why people care so much. I am doing what i want, i don't think its hurting anyone. Maybe they won't all have the most expensive gifts, but I'll do the best i can!

As one of the girls who is only having a MOH/BM I say, whatever makes you happy on your day. It's your day.
I think it's ironic that the one negative comment came from someone in the bridal party. Aren't they all suppose to support you and your decisions whether they agree or not. It's not their wedding.

It's your day! Do what makes you happy. Everyone always has something to say. Try not to let it get to you. YOU are the one that needs to be happy!

I am having 6 girls, 6 guys, 2 flower girls and a ring bearer and my mom and aunt were the only ones to make comments about the expense. with bigger limos, more bouquets, more gifts, but what are you going to do?

I have 7 BM and 7 GM. 1 fg and no ring boy.
It is a bit more costly to have so many, but worth it!

i totally agree, why would someone in the wedding party have something negative to say?? who are they to tell the bride they picked to many other girls. i would second guess having that person in my party. i myself are have 5 girls and 3 guys :)

i'm having 9 also and FH is having 10, people said the same thing to me, i ignore them, it's not their wedding. next time they tell you it's going to be expensive to get them all gifts, ask them if they are paying?!

I wouldn't worry about it - its your wedding and as long as those people mean something to you and things don't get crazy it's fine!!

We solved the problem of how many limos to get by just getting a limo bus, lol!! I figured it would be perfect.
Thanks for the reassurance! I am happy with the bridal party and thats all that counts.

People tend to look at me funny when I tell them we're having 2 MOHs, 1 BM and 11 kids (ages 3-16). So I know what you're talking about! I've learned to not care- Like LP says 'you day, your way'

I also have 9 girls. Don't worry! People will always have comments no matter what...half the time I think they say these things because they don't know what else to do.
You are very lucky you have so many close family members and friends that want to be a part of your special day. I think its going to be really fun to have so many girls around that have made such an impact on my life. Enjoy it!

I am having 9BM also! Plus, 1 MOH, 1 Best Man, 9 GM, 2 RB, 2 FG, & 1 Jr. GM. With us that makes 27! We are also doing the limo bus. I just ignore people when they comment about the size. It is our day & obviously, these people are important to us or they would not be part of our BP

I'm having 9 girls also! And I agree, they all mean so much to me I wouldnt want to leave any out. I do get the 'you are crazy' comments alot, and I even know that my MOH isnt thrilled, but it is truly what I want. So unfortunately, we just need to ignore the people who have their negative opinions!

I have 6 bridesmaids 2 junior bridesmaids and a flower girl-people say things but I ignore them-I couldn't imagine cutting any of them

We have 2 MOH, 2 BM (FH couldn't decide between 2 old friends) 6 BM, 6 GM and a flower girl. I'm comfortablewith it becasue we didn't want to leave anyone out...I've learned people will question anything and everything...if someone only had 1 or 2 girls they would say why so few? Enjoy! It's your wedding party and your budget...and your business not theirs!
