FH is Irish and very fair skinned. We're going to Antigua for our HM in 30 days. He's been working outside, but I know that's not enough. My dad had sun poisoning on his HM 28 years ago and I don't want that to happen to FH. I've never had many problems with sun burn because of my Italian and Native American background.
How should FH build up his base tan? I don't really believe in tanning beds, but if that is the only thing he can do, then so be it.
TIA! Any advice would be helpful.

Re: Skin Care
If RH is really fair skinned, he probably wouldn't even get a base tan, only a burn no matter what -- your best bet is to bring a really high SPF on the HM and make sure he puts it on several times a day. My dad is also really fair skinned and no matter what he only would get a burn, never a tan.

That's what I figured. Thanks.

Re: Skin Care
Get a really high SPF lotion travel with it at all times Wear light colored clothing Try not to go outside when the sun is at the highest point, if you see him getting red or his skin feel too hot then it's time to get out of the sun. Stay under shade, I know this is hard but trust it's better you take these percussion.
I'm Black and I've gotten sun burn once and been to the Emerg. Room 3 times for bad sun reaction it's not a good thing. Those are the procession that my doctor told me to take.
My FH is going to have to remind me of this on our HM too

I guess my real concern is when we are snorkeling.

Re: Skin Care
DH and i both tan easily....but not in Antigua! I used spf 4 the first day and he used none. Needless to say we were both crying the first night while rubbing aloe on each other. The rest of the trip we used spf 30! That sun is so strong there, a lot stronger than we thought! My advice is, have your fh use lots of sunblock! But you're going to have such a blast! I did a review of our HM in Antigua, its up now at the end of my wedding review.
