just curious: what was wrong with your skin to begin with? acne? craters? dark spots?

Re: skin issues

Re: skin issues
I love proactiv and ordered another bottle last night off of ebay! A bit cheaper there. Anyway, I stopped using all of it except the repairing lotion and now my skin is even better. I just use the lotion like a moisturizer every day.

Re: skin issues
thanks for the heads up with ebay!
my skin isn't horrible but at 28 years old i have way too many break outs and lately they leave dark spots after they go away (which at times takes weeks!)

Re: skin issues
I am thinking of trying Proactive. For some reason I am breaking out and am so nervous I break out b/f the wedding. My skin used to be bad but has looked ok for a long time now. And now its acting up again.

proactiv worked miracles for me! Good Luck... (and be careful when drying your face with colored towels or sleeping on colored pillow cases - it bleaches them!)

Re: skin issues
It sounds like you had what I had. The only thing that worked for me was Accutane. Then I had laser treatments to get rid of the scarring. Proactive won't help you. Don't waste your time. My old dermatologist was friends with the ladies who created it. She said it was a scam....its just like a cleanser you would buy in CVS.

I too use proactive and swear by it. It can be really strong on your skin. I don't use it every day - I usually use it 2-3 times a week. Lisa ETS: I also have done laser with monthly facials. The proactive keeps my skin up to shape in between.

Re: skin issues
I have used proactive too. It made my skin feel better and reduced some of my blemishes. Start off with that and if that combination works - (sometimes we need a regiment to help us fix our skin) then you can by products at CVS that have the same active ingredients.
I don't really have face acne, but because of my long hair my back tends to break out - anyone have any suggestions?

Re: skin issues
I've used Proactiv on and off for like 2 years. It definitely helped, but a couple of warnings -- #1: things may seem to get worse before they get better. For me it took about 2 weeks to see a major improvement.
#2: it will bleach things -- so be careful!!! My towels, my pillowcases, and the sleeves of my robe are totally bleached!
Does anyone else you used Proactiv agree that it tends to stop working? That's why I've taken breaks from it from time to time. Or maybe I just get frustrated when I get a zit!
