Re: Skin question...

Leelee - I agree, that annoys me too!!!

Marnles - we definetly have to be lighthearted about them. That is why I just make up names for mine (they have a life of their own, so why not a name). I had Wilma in April and Florence this month!!

Check this out. It reviews everything out there.

Acne treatment ratings

My back was breaking out like crazy and I used Nature's cure. You can find it in any pharmacy over the counter. It really helped but they say it varies from person to person

Re: Skin question...

It's just not possible to go thru life without them!!

And if the chocolate doesn't work, I will get a bottle of vegetable oil and pour it on!!!!! Yeah, that should do the trick!!

Gosh, I'm being so mean... Hell, if I have to suffer, everyone should!

The same thing happened to me! My derm put me on minocycline which worked wonders and differin which dried me out. I realized it was my birth control pill causing my breakouts and I switched to the patch which helped tremendously.

Re: Skin question...

The 4 Derms I went to, told me to stay away from Vit E oil. Like I said b4, everyone's skin is different - what works for one, won't necessarily work for another.

Re: Skin question...

you may want to try Cortizone Cream. It won't get rid of it overnight, but it may help reduce the swelling and redness.

Re: Skin question...

OK- I just came back from my new dermotologist- he is HOT HOT HOT... Basically because I have pretty bad cysts on my chin and have gone through 10 years of problems he told me the best bet is accutane- after doing research online and talking to my Primary care Doc I am going to do it.. I go in for my blood work tomorrow...

I will let you guys know if I go night blind or if my hair falls out or anything else- I heard it makes your hair dry- so it looks like I'm going to have to dye my hair before hand b/c I don't think my hair can take a double process during the 6 months I'm on it.. so this weekend it is back to brown.

Sassy -
Good luck!!!!!!!! I hope it is the miracle you've been looking for!

Just curious, I guess you're not TTC anytime soon then? Cause I heard you can't take it anytime near the time you're TTC...

Re: Skin question...

You may have rosacia or some other skin ailment. Go to a dermatologist. Nothing you buy over the counter is going to get to the heart of the matter. Go to your dermatologist. It's cheaper anyway b/c anything they prescribe will be covered by insurance as a medication.

Re: Skin question...

I never really had pimples until I turned 30, then I just broke out on my forehead, chin, and nose. Also, my skin became very oily, which I never experienced before. I finally went to a dermotologist and he said that I have adult acne and it's not that uncommon to first see this in women in their late 20s. I now use his products (cleanser, toner, moisterizer) and a variety of prescription ointments. Needless to say, it did the job. I was using Tazorac and am now using Dermator (both prescription creams). I did stop using his products last winter because I ran out and didn't feel like spending the money and I started having problems again. In the last week, pimples started to make their appearance again on my chin and the dermotologist said that they were due to stress (I'm getting married in 2 weeks! ) and so put me on an anitbiotic for 10 days. I know what you're going through and my only advice is to see a dermotologist. Good luck!

acne stinks

We are not TTC until January of 2005!!! So we have some time... (My DH would be happy to TTC in 2020 LOL)....

Wanted to have at least 2 years 'by ourselves'... so we'll see.. I'm hoping it goes well because I'm really sick of having a chin full of huge pimples (and I'm talking acne pimples, not blackheads).

Acne runs in my family- I have a lot of scarring throughout my face from it- I'm hoping to FINALLY clear it up and then get some laser surgery on the scars...

Believe it or not I wanted to apply to be on the ultimate makeover show- throw in some laser eye surgury, boobs, lips, and lipo!!! LOL. DH and I were joking about possibly filming to do it together.. I know he wouldn't mind a little lipo in the love handle area :)

Re: acne stinks

Ugh! I feel your pain! I dont know what is with my skin. It was never really bad ever, the occasional pimple or two, even as a teenager but after I had the baby, my skin has been a nightmare. It was beautiful when I was pg but since then, as soon as one ugly pimple goes away, or doesn't even go away, another is coming. It's depressing in it's own way. I actually am going to get the name of the dermatologist that my 16 yo nephew went to last year. That orthotrycyclin pill that I am on is not helping like it's supposed to.

LOL I was at the Estee Lauder counter 2 weeks ago and the girl complimented me on my skin. I decided she was either blind or full of sh*t. Most likely the latter. I almost laughed in her face!

Good luck fellow zit sufferers

Elizabeth-
I went for a facial for the first time on my honeymoon, and the lady looked at me and said 'ooo, I love the shape of your eyebrows' - that's when I knew my skin was really bad!!

Sassy-
I'll say it again, best of luck! I would love to do that makeover show!!
