I know someone who just got a few removed last week. She said it doesn't hurt, it does scab over a bit but then you should be fine.

I have some and wanted to have the removed before the wedding but now I only have 15 days and not sure if they would be healed by then. I actually heard you can snip them off yourself but I am too afraid to try it!!!!!

That's why I am going tonight, the doctor told me they need 2 weeks to heal and I am getting married in 3. She thinks they will be fine.

No, don't snip them off yourself, you can bleed to death if there is a vein anywhere near one!! The only thing that people used to do is to tie a piece of thread around it, to cut off the blood flow to it, which it turn will make it shrivel up and supposingly fall off?? I too scared to try anything, but at least I know the doctors is safe. LOL

My FH has one also; do they do this at your regular doctor?

I've had it done before and I am the biggest baby.
They numb it so you dont feel anything. Its a piece of cake.

Re: Skin Tags...anyone have them?

hi there,

i've had a couple removed and it's really not a big deal at all. i'm a HUGE baby when it comes to all things doctor related and it was easy to have them removed...didn't hurt at all! i think regular doctors may be able to do it, but it's probably best to see a dermatologist.

I have had many removed and used to work for a derm who removed them. Its very easy and they tend to heal very quick. They numb the area with a small amount of lidocaine and you wont feel a thing.

I just had 3 removed...it takes 2 seconds and really doesn't hurt at all...if anything, it' just a little pinch...mine actually healed in a week. You usually get them taken off by ure dermatologist...HTH!

I've had a couple removed.

I'm such a baby when it comes to that stuff, but it was no problem at all and didn't hurt.

Thank you to everyone who posted their experiences with these.... I just called and made an appointment for tomorrow morning at 9am. Not sure if they will remove them tomorrow or reschedule me to come back but glad I finally called!!!!

Can someone explain what a skin tag is?

Re: Skin Tags...anyone have them?

Thanks ladies!! I am going to my dermatologist, but she has a surgeon who does it in the office.

I know its not covered by insurance and the price is between $150-$200, but this is to have up to 10 removed. I only have 2, 1 on each shoulder!!

My FH calls them 'milk duds'....LOL

I had a few removed at my dermatologists office. It wasn't painfully at all. It just bled a little and eventually healed within a few days.

You should be fine.

FH had go through that. It does not hurt. In March he had to go for surgery to take care of a fatty cyst. That was a bit more serious but he is fine now.
