So i was watching 4 weddings the other day and one of the girls did fire lanterns in memory of their passed loved ones. It looked so beautiful! I really love the idea, and it's so different from a memory candle.... but the idea of sending something on fire to float in the sky scares me (espechilly because the Riviera is in such a residential area) Are any of you girls doing fire lanterns at your wedding?

Re: sky lanterns
This is EXACTLY what I wanted for my wedding. Problem is, my fiance looked it up a while ago and said it is considered fireworks, something like that... I think it might be expensive, not the actual lantern but the logistics. I'm also scared that I'd light a vineyard or worse someones HOUSE on fire!
If you find any further info on it please let me know!
It's a common thing in the UK. He lit one up for his birthday and it was beautiful. They're huge and gorgeous.
I don't know why when in the UK I'm not scared to light one but here in the US I am! Weird mentality.

Re: sky lanterns
I saw this on tv wedding and loved the idea. It can get pricey if you are doing one for everyone. I had no idea it was considered a firework! Well that sucks! I know the plus is they have bio degradable ones.

They sell them on ebay and they are not expensive at all if you are only doing a few. I saw the episode as well and asked FH if we can do them in memory of my father. Since we'll be taking pics down by the water we're going to do them there, its more for me than for the entire wedding to see anyway.
