Slacking

Slacking

So I realize that There is still more than a year and a half before my wedding but I totally feel like we are slacking!

We booked the church & reception hall back in October. We went on 2 photo/video appts in November, but have been doing more research than booking. We've been trying to compare prices before jumping into that just yet.

I'm impatient and I wanted every thing booked and ready to go by Christmas haha... clearly my fiance is the more sensible one of the two of us. ;)

I know we have lots of time... but I can't help feeling restless about the lack of 'being done'!

I am the same way!! FH and I got engaged in the beginning of November and I wanted everything set in stone. I am so afraid that the vendors I like will not be available. FH is much more sensible than me - I guess this is why we are so good for each other, we balance each other out.

I started freaking out when we were looking at venues and a bunch already had the date we wanted.

I've seen a lot of posts where 2013 girls have every thing booked and I feel so far behind!!!

Yes! Like you, my biggest fear is that the vendors I want won't be available! I figured we were all just super ahead of the game here! haha

Some vendors tell me that I am ahead of the game and some tell me that things are booking up! I am so happy to have joined this site since FH thinks I am nuts for worrying about every detail!

Exactly... it's nice to talk to other brides that are just as nuts over detail!

And hey, look at it this way.... you'll always have more time than I do!

He is only really concerned about a few things and the rest is up to me! and it great to get some ideas to help think outside of the box. I always second guess myself, I have to learn to just go with my gut!

Exactly... that's what I'm learning as well! I've heard wayyy too many times from new brides--go with your instincts. If you want something, do it, otherwise you will regret not doing it.

I have been to a few weddings and I know that there are things that I would want to do and things I would not want to do. I also am infusing different parts of our family traditions into the wedding to truly make it our own.

Me Three!!!

I'm worse though. I've been engaged since April (has it been that long already) and I only have a ceremomy/reception site picked out. I haven't even signed the contract yet - oops.

I'm on a budget so I feel like I'm doing so much research and scoutinginto prices before I make appointments. I'd hate to show up and be like - yup.. hour of my time and their time wasted because I will never book at their price.

I WILL stick to budget. That's the mantra I keep telling myself.

I was also that way where I needed everything booked because I know who I wanted. My hall I did a week after we were engaged my DJ,Video,Photographer I did a week after that. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to lose the, for that day. I knew what I wanted and I just did it. I just booked Limos too because I didn't want what I wanted gone on my day.

A bride went into the limo place while I was in there for 6 months away. They had certain cars available and were mad bc someone else had what they wanted. I'm a firm believer in if u want it go get it. I feel the relief because everything but the hotel is booked!!!

I wish I had as much done as you!! I have off from work for 10 days soon and I hope to get a good part done or at least lookspeak to vendors. I have to stop second guessing myself.

We looked at about 10 venues before picking one!

I am totally not even in the game...been engaged over a year & just decided we want a Feb 2013 wedding! We have done nothing & I feel like the wedding I want will never hapen so why bother..lol.

But I did start reaching out to venues and compiling a guest list...I absolutely refuse to spend more than my budget & feel like as soon as I book something I may have missed out on a better deal somewhere else!!

Aww don't stress!! You really do have plenty of time... I was a little nuts with it and wanted to make sure that I got all of the vendors that I knew I wanted.

That's what I was thinking.... I'm excited to go to some more shows and see what kind of discounts/deals, etc. we can acquire before actually booking!

Thanks for making me feel better about my slacking! ;)
