Slight invite overlook.....HELP!

Slight invite overlook.....HELP!

Ok invites have been mailed and delivered...

That said, my invites say the church time is 3:30 and that the reception is to immediately follow. I didn't order reception cards and a guest has brought to our attention that if someone doesn't go to the church they don't know what time to arrive at the hall..... UMMMM good point!! Crap, how would you handle this? My mom is in a panic and I told her worse case senario we and FMIL will have to make some phone calls. Do you think that is a good fix or that we should make up a reception card and mail it out to everyone? I really didn't want to spend MORE $$ on postage, but if you girls think thats what I should do then I guess we will have to just spend the money.......

I think you are fine. When people have their reception at the RH that is what they usually say. I have gotten invites like this and everything worked out fine.

hmmmm.
I would make calls. Did you include direction cards to the RH- as long as they know where it is, call with the time and you should be ok.

Don't stress too much about it....everything will work out!

i agree as long as they know where it is all i would do is phone calls and i would probably assume that the reception is around 4:30

I forgot to put in direction cards, therefore I have to mail new ones. But I think most people can figure that is the church is an hour at the most, then the reception would be after..

hmmm .. Well hopefully people know that a church mass is about an hour long.. But honestly, I would want to know what time the cocktail hour started if I wasn't going to the church, so I would either make calls or mail out a recpetion card

I think you have NOTHING to worry about. Its in the same location right? The invite says 'reception immediatly following' right. If your guests have 2 brain cells they should be able to figure out its in the same place

I dont think you need to worry or even make phone calls. If they show up late they show up late, but it will still be to the same place.

We made a mistake too, no big deal. Our reception time is a half hour earlier than the time on the card. I wouldnt worry just make some calls!

I'm not getting married at the hall I am getting married in a church that is 40 minutes away from the hall. We are just having a ceremony no mass. If I was getting married at the Hall I wouldn't care, but because I'm not I'm not sure what to do...

I included the direction cards so they know where to go...just not when to go!

Re: Slight invite overlook.....HELP!

Maybe you could send it in postcard form? Saves you postage!

OR. . .if you have every guest's e-mail, send it to them either as an e-mail or maybe even an Evite. Have everybody respond to the Evite so that you know they know what the deal is.

Chances are that your guests blocked out the entire day for your wedding, so you can even make an announcement during the ceremony if need be.

In the scheme of things, you'll figure it out!!!

If I got that, I would assume it was 4:30/5. I think its fine, just be prepared, people might get to the RH early.

Re: Slight invite overlook.....HELP!

exactly i would get there around 430/ 5...if thats ok with you then dont even call people but if you think the RH will have a problem with this then maybe call or email

honestly, if I got that I would assume that she is having a mass.. which is more common at church and assume its an hour ... so i would get to the hall later, no?

actually I think that people will have plenty of time to get to the RH if your mass starts at 3:30... i wouldnt worry about it.

We got an invite like that last year... it def did bother me that i didnt know what the reception started bc we had no intention on going to the church... we had to call the groom and ask him... i mean no biggie, but yeah, personally, i think it should be on there

Re: Slight invite overlook.....HELP!

First dont stress.. it really isnt a big deal.

Second I dont necessarily agree with other posters that people will know what time to show up--They will generally be on time-- but if your coctail hour is only an hour and people end up missing half of it- you probably dont want that so..

I think that you should either split your list of invitees among you , FH and family and call people or if that is too much to deal with now then tell the people most important to you and let the word travel by word of mouth..

If you really have the time or inclination you could get postcards printed on vistaprint.com for relatively cheap. In fact if you sign up for their website you will likely get an email sent to you within days that offers you 100 postcards free, Also you can just google vistaprint and coupon code and get a link with at least 50 percent off.

Thats if you want to be really anal about it.. otherwise phone calls./word of mouth and common sense should do the trick!

Good luck!

What time is your reception starting?

When I get an invite like yours I generally feel like I have to go to the church and so I do.
