Slow cookers

Hi, ladies,

Just wondering if it is worth putting one of these on our registry? Does anyone have one and use it often?

Thanks

Re: Slow cookers

I use it -- it's great for the summer and for long work days. Set it and it cooks while you're out and dinner is ready to go when you get home.

it's also great to use to keep stuff warm when you have company.

I've used it once for entertaining. Everyone says that it's the best thing ever, but I haven't been motivated enough to find recipies for it.

My mom uses it regularly - probably once a month or so. It is wonderful - you just put stuff in it and while you're at work, it cooks, making walking in after work LOVELY!!!

We registered for one because we love what my mom makes in it...

We registered for one at BB&B. They also have a recipe book there called Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook. All slow cooker recipes.

fh and I were wondering the same thing while we were registering. I may have to show him this to sway him!

I use it all the time, its great - especially for slowly roasted meats and stuff -

makes great bbq pulled pork, roast beef, etc.

Yummmmm

Re: Slow cookers

I love mine. Everything tastes better slow cooked. It's so easy - just throw everything in in the morning, come back after work and TADA...you have a meal ready

One word of advice: If you're making small portions just cook for less time. I've dried out meats letting stay in too long. If you do it right, everything comes nice and tender!!

omg you must! its so affordable and such a time saver. it makes beef stew like you wouldnt believe. i just dump all the stuff int the cooker before i leave for work and by the time i get home, its ready to eat.

I use mine all the time in the fall & winter. Nothing like coming home to a hot meal.

I use mine all the time. I cook pot roasts, pork roasts, beef tips with gravy, and chicken and dumplings in mine and I have also used it for parties to keep my italian beef warm. I love it!!!

Ok, that was an easy decision:)
Putting it on tonight; heading to BB&B since everyone said we don't have enough on our two registries-LOL. Can't help it-we have most of the stuff we need already.

I have one - absolutely love it... considering FH and I work long days... it makes it a lot easier not to think about when I get started on dinner... I put everything in it in the morning (or make FH do it during his lunch hour) and by time we get home - viola!!! Le super est servee!

Re: Slow cookers

My FH actually put this on the registry after his BM who is recently married recommended it. They even exchanged recipes. I made a beef stew in it once and it was yummy. FH went out and bought a slow cooker cookbook and started making things. It's so easy...just cut up stuff, throw it in, leave the house if you want, and several hours later you have a great tasting meal. I'm looking forward to that stew on cold nights. This was the only way to get FH into cooking.

DEF get one.. it's SOO worth it. i use mine REGULARLY>. i've found that anything in a slow cooker tastes good... u can thow some chick wings in there with some sauce and onions.. come home make some rice and wallah... or some short ribs in there with some water and onions.. and poof.. great meals happening..

just make sure u get the kind with the stoneware insert, so u can remove that part for cooking..
