slow cooking a turkey?

tonight i'm having a house full of friends over for a friends thanksgiving dinner.. i was looking at different ways to cook the turkey and i came across a slow cooking recipe. it says to cook the turkey at 250 degrees for 20 mins per pound of turkey. but then i read that it's unsafe to cook it at a temperature less than 325 degrees. idk girls..

has anyone ever slow cooked a turkey? should i just cook it the normal way? lol ugh

how big is your turkey? I wouldn't think it's unsafe if you are stickiing by the 20 minutes per lb... lots of people i know use the slow cooker for other meats.

but i don't have one so sorry i cant give the greatest advice...

I am not sure -- I know there is some tempature that it needs to be cooked at though. I would be careful.

Deep fry it -- it is so quick and soooooo good!
