Mia is now eating 3 meals a day..cereal..veggie/fruit and then veggie for dinner, she has not been drinking any BM during the day, she may have an ounce or an ounce in a half at most.
I used to pump twice a day at work and get at least 10 ounces to leave for her the next day but since she hasn't been drinking hardly any of the milk I've decided to pump only once a day instead of twice a day.
My BM has slowed down by 3 ounces and I'm afraid that if and when the time comes that the baby may need more or goes through some type of growth spurt I will not be able to produce the milk. Is this true? or can I just get it back by pumping more??
Also, if she stays this way then I'm guessing she is weaning off the bottle on her own... Any BTDT Moms care to give me some insight??? Thanks!
Oh by the way she nurses in the morning before I go to work and she nurses when I get home up until she goes to bed.

Re: Slowing Down Breastmilk..???
I wish I had more info
I know that when I started Damien on cereal my supply has slowed down also and at first I got really worried. It has balanced itself and I always have enough. Maybe FM Karen(KPtoys) Emma is older and she would probably be more help to you

I think if she needs more due to a growth spurt she will try to nurse longer and more often. This will help you produce more. You can also go back to pumping 2x a day during those times. Supply and demand. She will be fine.

Re: Slowing Down Breastmilk..???
Did you Dr say to go to 3 meals? If I'm correct, I think since BM or formula is the most important and should be the primary source of calories and nutrition for the first year, I'd say cut out one meal so she's getting more milk. If you are losing milk, maybe take the fenugreek supplement to increase it again? I would ask your Dr and a lactation specialist about it too since it sounds to me like she should be drinking more than she is right now during the day.
