Small changes approach to dieting
I saw this on CNN. It's nothing we haven't heard before but more effective I think.

Here are the 5 tips they give.
1. Cut out all soda
2. Portion control on snacking (**I read somewhere that snacks should be no more than 150 calories)
3. Switch to wheat products instead of white (bread, pasta, etc)
4. No sweets
5. EXERCISE!
***For this one, I know a thing or two about it because I lost 30 pounds and kept it off with exercise. Here are my own exercise tips
Pick something you like and do that. If you hate to run, don't. Walk instead or do the elliptical or the stair master or jumping jacks. If you hate it, you'll just stop doing it anyway.
If you're not a morning person, go at night. Every jump start exercise program that began in the morning for me immediately was derailed becuase I HATE the morning. So now I exercise right after work and don't let myself go home until I've at least gone into the gym and changed my clothes. If at that point I have 3 reasons to go (forgot a sock, my iPod doesn't work, I forgot my book, I have a headache, I'm kinda hungry, etc.) then I get to leave. Otherwise I have to workout.
You can also go to Womenshealthmag.com and they have a TON of tips like this. Seriously - spend some time browsing the Women's Health site. It has pre-built workouts of varying lengths, you can build your own workout and print it, it has Eat This, Not That. I love that site. I used to get the mag but realized that theyr'e just publishing all of the same stuff on the site a month later anyway so why pay?
