My fiance and I would like to get married in a small (30ish people) ceremony on a (public?) Beach. Minimal set-up/cost and pretty much handle it all ourselves. We will most likely hold a small reception at a small hall in our hometown. So my question is how would i go about planning and preparing for holding a ceremony on the beach on long island? South shore western suffolk/east nassau would be ideal or Long Beach. Any advice! Thanks!

I'm not from Long Island, but I would assume you would need a permit depending on which beach you use.

You'll def need a permit... we ended up with a catering hall (Land's End) because we wanted a beach wedding and its really hard to find a place just for the ceremony. I'd contact the town of Long Beach or the Allegria hotel in LB- they're the only people I've seen have weddings on the beach. Maybe you can just do the ceremony there
